HKK Široki TT Kabeli will host Cedevita Olimpija on Saturday, October 10, at 9:00 PM in Round 3 of the AdmiralBet ABA League. It will be Široki's first home game since returning to the regional competition, with head coach Marijan Bagarić and his team looking to continue their winning start in front of their home fans.
Široki secured an 87–81 away victory over Borac in Čačak in their previous game, while Cedevita Olimpija defeated Cibona on their home court. Both teams enter Saturday's clash following victories, setting the stage for an exciting encounter at Pecara.
Široki head coach Marijan Bagarić is well aware of the quality of the opposition, who also compete in the EuroCup, but believes his team can challenge them through energy, determination and teamwork.
"Cedevita Olimpija are a very strong EuroCup team, led by an excellent coach, and we know they are a very well-organized club. I wouldn't go into tactical details, but our primary goal will certainly be to limit their transition game, fast breaks and rebounding, while matching their aggressiveness. We have been looking forward to playing a home ABA League game again after so many years. We will give everything we have and try to achieve a big victory through great energy and togetherness," said Bagarić.
Široki player Dominik Vujanović also recognizes the quality of the visitors but believes his team has a chance to secure another important victory.
"The fact that our opponents compete in the EuroCup says a lot about their quality. However, they have both strengths and weaknesses, and we will try to take advantage of our opportunities and secure a big victory at our Pecara after so many years. I would also like to invite our fans to come and support us in as large numbers as possible," said Vujanović.
Široki face a demanding challenge against strong European opposition, but Saturday's game also marks a special occasion for the club and its supporters. Following their successful trip to Čačak, the team will finally return to ABA League action in front of the home crowd at Pecara.
